4 Steps to

Reducing Teacher Burnout

Mini Course

What if a few changes to the way you teach could gain you more time, reduce your workload while also improving student outcomes? The 4 Steps shows you how. It’s a Science based approach to teaching English and Humanities.

How Can I Help?

Professional learning for English, EAL/ESL and Humanities Teachers focused on sustainable teaching practices that reduce your workload, burnout and stress.

Get empowered, feel less exhausted and bring back balance to your life.

Don’t take my word for it, hear what teachers have to say!

I’m definitely more relaxed already with a few techniques. It was a no brainer to come to your next workshop!!

If you are exhausted, dejected or feel like you’re spending hours differentiating work only to have students still not ‘get it’, this is the workshop for you!

The Exhausted Teacher’s workshop was SO valuable and could not have come at a better time. It’s all too common to attend professional development workshops where a few rigid strategies or activities are thrown at you in rapid succession, but this equipped me with ideas that are transferrable across all age groups, subjects and ability levels.

The day was a perfect balance of reading and writing theory, examples, and opportunities to put these ideas into practice.

Your workshop gave me strategies to use a language driven approach in the classroom.

Your workshop offered a new approach to working with text and challenged my current approach (reading skills; what good readers do etc).

Having times where we stopped and had a go at using the steps/skills being modelled was very helpful. Feedback on how we were doing also helped. The information was clearly presented in a logical, well explained manner.

I used your strategies in all three of my classes today!!! Thank you.

I feel so much less stressed knowing I now have a toolkit of strategies and activities I can use across all my classes.

Rarely do you attend a PD where you learn something really useful, but also inspires you to become a better teacher. The Exhausted Teacher’s workshop was the exception to the rule. What is more, there was also time to develop your own resources and learn the theory behind the practice. I wholeheartedly recommend Kaja’s PD to anyone whether you are a novice or experienced. The most interesting thing is Kaja’s approach. It is so practical and any teacher will benefit from her approach.

Who is Kaja Strzalka

Kaja Strzalka

I have a Masters in Education from Deakin University in Melbourne Victoria where I specialised in teaching English as an Additional Language.

I started my journey as a Teach for Australia intern teaching at disadvantaged schools. I became obsessed with finding what would work in the classroom and how to support my beautiful students who were struggling. At the same time, I focused on developing effective and sustainable teaching practices to overcome my feelings of complete exhaustion and overwhelm.

I hope that my ideas, strategies and professional development will show you sustainable ways you can reduce your stress and improve your teaching life for the long term.

“Teacher exhaustion is not inevitable.”
